On March 15-16, 2012, Whole Foods Market is hosting the first YouthTrade(TM) Summit in order to select products from young entrepreneurs for sale in its North Atlantic stores.

YouthTrade is a project of YES (Youth Entrepreneurship and Sustainability), in partnership with the Conscious Capitalism Institute (CCI), designed to promote entrepreneurship among people under the age of 35 by creating new markets for their products.

At the event, Whole Foods Markets will be selecting YouthTrade products to sell in its North Atlantic region stores. The YouthTrade founding companies include Back to the Roots, The Biochar Company’s Soil Reef, Holstee, Perfect Fuel Chocolate, Proxy Apparel, Runa Tea, SustainU, and Susty Party. A number of other exciting companies led by young entrepreneurs will be showcased at the Summit. The YouthTrade Summit will include a networking reception and expo, as well as a seminar outlining what it takes to become a Whole Foods Market/YouthTrade vendor, including information on merchandizing, packaging, and loans. The Summit will culminate in one-on-one meetings for the young entrepreneurs with the Whole Foods Market purchasing and merchandising division.
