Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission features SustainU in weekly segment at highlights SustainU, founder Chris Yura, and involvement with the Clinton School of Public Service in their weekly “Clean and Green” segment sponsored by the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission.

The article discusses how Chris got involved in the fashion industry, first as a model and now as an entrepreneur. While working in the industry, he was very bothered by the fact that labels could claim that they were “Made in the USA” when in fact only one aspect of the multi-step construction process was done here on American soil.

Also, many clothing companies claim that they are made of 100% recycled materials when the truth is that as little as 20% of the garment is actually recycled, misleading customers into thinking that their tee shirt is totally eco-friendly when that is simply not the case.

This motivated Chris to begin SustainU, where garments actually are made entirely, from yarn production to garment construction, in the U.S. AND are made of 100% recycled materials. In fact, through the construction of SustainU garments, absolutely zero virgin resources are used. The claims that SustainU makes are factual, which sets the company apart from many competitors in the fashion industry.
