Founder and Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Chris is responsible for leading the company and overseeing all aspects of its business development initiatives designed to achieve long term growth. Prior to launching SustainU, he gathered and developed his experience in the fashion and entertainment industry while based in New York City, while maintaining his interest and involvement in social and environmental-related issues. Previously, he served in managerial roles within the customer service field, developing marketing strategies and strategic business initiatives to attract prospective clients.
Chris has spoken on sustainability and apparel across the country sharing his innovative approach and methods with a diverse audience, from C-level executives to college students. The New York Times, the Sustainable, Brands Conference, the Green Festivals, TEDx Asheville, the Clinton School of Business, the White House Business Development Council and the Mendoza School of Business at the University of Notre Dame are a few of the places Chris has shared his ideas.
Chris attended the University of Notre Dame where he was a four-year letterman and stand-out fullback for the Fighting Irish football team, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Computer Applications.
Vice President, Production
Patrick is responsible for overseeing the development and quality of SustainU’s product lines, while ensuring that manufacturing facilities are running at optimum efficiency. He is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Vice President, Inventory and Distribution
Steve manages SustainU’s product logistics and inventory management, while assisting with the operations at the production plant in Charlotte, North Carolina. Previously, he worked in the adventure travel industry as a whitewater raft guide and professional ski photographer.
Vice President, Corporate Communications & Marketing
Trey is responsible for developing and overeeing all of SustainU’s communications and marketing initiatives, as well as managing relationships with customers, universities, retail clothiers, the media, and company partners. Prior to joining SustainU, he established dsgn+mrktng, a graphic design and marketing firm that provided corporate branding, identity development, and public relations services. Previously, Trey was the founder and director of Deepwater Media Group, a collaborative of freelance graphics artists committed to providing high-quality multi-media support to companies and non-profit organizations.
Director of Corporate Responsibility
Tiffany oversees the coordination and execution of SustainU’s annual CR initiatives as well as providing support for the company’s non-profit partnerships. Prior to joining SustainU, she served as communications specialist and tour coordinator for NURU International, handling logistics and managing outreach efforts. Previously, Tiffany worked for Invisible Children, Inc., where she was responsible for increasing support for the organization.
Marketing & Communications Associate
Anne provides media relations support for the marketing and communications team as well as focusing on business development for SustainU. Her background in the customer-service industry provides her with a set of unique insights and experience as she works to promote the company’s communications campaigns. Anne received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from West Virginia University, focusing on fashion design and merchandising and integrated marketing communications. While at WVU, she worked with a team of fellow students on a school sponsored clothing line that went on to win the West Virginia State DECA Competition for their business plan.
