7th Annual “Pat’s Run” Benefits Pat Tillman Foundation

Tempe, AZ–On Saturday, April 16th, nearly 30,000 people took part in the 7th Annual Pat’s Run in the streets of Tempe, Arizona.  The 4.2 mile run/walk is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation, which invests in veterans and their families through education and community.  The race finished at the 42 yard line (symbolic of Tillman’s football number) of the University of Arizona’s Sun Devil Stadium.

Tillman, a former Arizona State University student and Arizona Cardinals football player, turned down a $3.6 million football contract to join the Army Rangers.  Tillman died as a result of friendly fire in 2004 while serving in Afghanistan.

SustainU was excited to be part of honoring Pat Tillman’s legacy by outfitting the “Green Team” which helped with sustainability at the event.  SustainU creates 100% recycled, 100% American-made apparel, benefiting the environment and providing jobs in the USA.

The Pat Tillman Foundation is a national leader in providing resources and educational scholarship support to veterans, active servicemembers, and their dependents.  For more information and for race results, visit www.pattillmanfoundation.org/pats-run.
